AIQ Announces New Appointments Strengthening Technology & Operational Management Capabilities

SINGAPORE, 26 March 2019 – AIQ Pte Ltd, the Singapore-based computer vision and video recognition tech start up promoting visual commerce in today’s increasingly mobile first, online world, announced the appointment of three accomplished technology executives, namely Mr Khang Toh as Chief Technology Officer, Mr Alvin Ling as Chief Operating Officer and Mr Frank Yan as computer vision and deep learning research engineer, today. The new appointments heighten AIQ’s management and technical capabilities to propel the company through its next phase of growth.

Khang brings with him more than 15 years of management experience in the software engineering industry, having led technical teams in the US and Singapore. At AIQ, he is accountable for the full spectrum of technological developments, including strategic developments across all territories where he will drive innovation and enhance the applications of AIQ’s proprietary solutions. These include AIQ’s Video-Image-Chat solutions (VICS). Before joining AIQ, Khang was CTO of PicoCandy, a leading mobile branded content company. Khang is actively involved in Singapore’s developer community and founded the Singapore Android Developers Meetup in 2013. He is the current conference chair for droidcon SG and also the Developer Circles Lead at Facebook.

Alvin is a veteran in the mobile advertising space. He has more than 15 years of business delivery and operations experience in the information technology and AdTech industry. He is responsible for operations and revenue strategy for AIQ and accountable for driving trade partnerships and engagement. Prior to AIQ, Alvin was regional head of operations at SpotX, where he was Senior Director, Operations of APAC for the MNC’s account and revenue operations. He also pushed strategies and managed operations in global companies including SAP, Smaato and Affle.

Passionate about data mining, computer vision, machine learning and deep learning, Frank has more than a decade of experience in computer engineering and system analysis. At AIQ, his focus is on continually enhancing and refining the start up’s video and video recognition technology, as well as all deep learning research. Deep learning, a new area of machine learning, is most widely based on large-scale convolutional neural networks composed of complex model architectures that process data such as images, video, sounds and text. Frank’s career spans across various IT-centric roles with technological giants in Singapore and China including SITA, Amadeus and IBM.
